This course explores the rich tapestry of traditional Northern European healing practices, focusing on the energetic, symbolic, and ritual methods used in pre Christian and early folk cultures across the Germanic regions. Some of these practices are still used in parts of the Pennsylvania German culture to this day. Students will examine how healers, cunning folk, and community practitioners understood the flow of life force, the power of intention, and the deep relationship between humans and the natural world. They will also learn how energy movement, charms, spells, and sympathetic magic was and is still used to help heal people today.
